Aeration and seeding is one of the most beneficial lawn care services for your lawn every year. This service is generally performed in the fall.
Seeding is commonly referred to as “overseeding”. The seed will begin to germinate in 7-10 days with proper watering. As the grass root grows, it creates a thick root mat which helps to prevent weeds from growing in.
Holes are punched in the lawn during aeration. Sometimes the holes are pulled from the ground as plugs, depending on the aerator. The holes allow more water and nutrients to penetrate the soil. Aerating also helps to loosen compacted turf.
The weather is a little cooler, which makes grass very happy! The weeds die off which allows the grass to absorb more water and nutrients since there is less "competition" for these things. The optimal window to receive aeration and seeding or overseeding opens at the end of August and runs through the end of October.

Yes! The lawn will need to be cut short prior to the service to allow maximum seed-to-soil contact. Buried utilities, such as irrigation or invisible dog fence, will need to be marked. We can mark sprinkler heads for an additional cost.
If you only aerated, but did not seed, you don't need to do anything.
If your lawn was seeded, you will need to:
